Everyone has heard the line "use it or lose it." So the question is, are you using your body at its full potential?
Exercise, Exercise come on everybody do your exercise!

 

Being physically fit is one of the core components of a wellness lifestyle. So what does being physically fit mean? It is the ability to perform daily tasks vigorously and alertly, with energy left over for enjoying leisure-time activities and meeting emergency demands.

 

Everyone knows that exercise is good for them, so why do so many avoid it, even loath it, and find every excuse not to do something that can improve their quality of life so dramatically? The answer is simple. They haven't found anything they enjoy doing or they haven't had the chance to appreciate and enjoy the results and benefits of their efforts. If you're not having fun or not enjoying benefits you're not going to "just do it". It is also important to note that if you are exercising out of fear (trying to avoid illness) or if you don't enjoy your exercise routine you will lose out on most (if not all) of the documented benefits of regular exercise.

 

Numerous studies over the years have shown that regular exercise: improves posture, strengthens the immune system, aids in digestion, relieves mild and moderate forms of clinical depression, reduces the risk of cancer and heart disease, increases your attention span and improves concentration, just to name a few.

 

Wellness Action Steps

Wether it is dancing or swimming, golf or tennis, yoga or tai chi, hiking or biking, kayaking or curling, find activities and/or sports you enjoy. Now do them and do some exercising that helps you be better at doing them. It can be one activity 3 to 5 times per week or 3 to 5 activities per week, "just do it (while having fun, of course)." Your health and wellbeing depend on it.
